Marjory Nigro, M.D.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Nigro finished medical school and a dermatology residency in Brazil and became board certified in 1992. She was in private practice and academics for two years and then moved to the United States. She completed a full dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident during her last year of residency. Dr. Nigro became board-certified in the US in 1999.
She volunteers at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital Dermatology Clinic, teaching Baylor residents and medical students. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, and she serves as the Chairman of the Dermatology Department at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nigro has been among the Top Doctors in Houston for the past two years. Dr. Nigro speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and French.
James Nigro, M.D.

Dr. Nigro received his Bachelor of Arts in human biology at Stanford University in 1984. He completed his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1988. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1991 and a melanoma fellowship, also at UCSF, in 1992. Dr. Nigro furthered his training with a dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995, during which he served as the Chief Resident and the fellow in pediatric dermatology in his final year of residency. Dr. Nigro was board certified in pediatrics in 1991, board certified in dermatology in 1995, and board certified in pediatric dermatology in 2004.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Nigro was an assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital from 1995-2000. During this time, he served as the Chief of Dermatology at Harris Health Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston. In June of 2000, he joined his wife, Dr. Marjory Nigro, in private practice and has since practiced pediatric dermatology exclusively. He remains on the dermatology faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine on a volunteer basis
Jeanne Spedale, M.D.

A native of Louisiana, Dr. Spedale now calls Texas home. She graduated in 1994 from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans. She was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served as president of her senior class. She completed a medical internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
Dr. Spedale completed her dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 1998. During her final year, she served as Chief Resident. She is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, the Harris County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
Her volunteer activities include teaching 7th grade Continuing Catholic Education at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She’s an active school volunteer at St. John’s School and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Spedale is also on the Board of Directors of the Houston Area Women’s Center. During her free time, she likes to cook, read, and run half marathons. Her son and twin daughters keep her very busy!
Amanda Amster, MMSc, PA-C

Amanda grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science. She went on to pursue her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.
Amanda is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, The American Academy of Physician Assistants, and The Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
When she is not working, Amanda enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with friends and family, including her cavapoo, Franklin.
DeeDee Doria, LVN

DeeDee is a highly trained and experienced certified laser technician, having received certifications in IPL, Sublative and Ultherapy for skin rejuvenation, Laser Hair Removal, V-Beam and KTP lasers for vascular lesions, Yag laser , Gentle Lase for pigmented lesions and Tripolar and Emsculpt for body contouring.
She is extensively educated and certified in performing a fat-freezing procedure known as CoolSculpting. She has been treating patients since the start of CoolSculpting back in 2011.
DeeDee has comprehensive training and experience in all major areas of Aesthetics, including Chemical Peels, Melanage Peels for Melasma, Skin Pen/PRP Microneedling, Dermalinfusion, Microdermabrasion, Medical Facials and Dermaplaning.
Her fun, down to earth personality allows for a memorable treatment experience and superb care for her patients. When she is not delivering quality patient care at Nigro Dermatology , she enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and 3 daughters.
Elizabeth Gawlik, LMA

Elizabeth graduated from the CIDESCO gold standard of beauty and spa therapy: The Institute of Cosmology, Esthetics, & Massage in Houston, Texas in 2015.
She is certified in all aspects of Advanced Medical Aesthetics – including chemical peels (for all skin concerns, as well as the Melange Peel for melasma), microdermabrasion, and laser hair removal. She is certified and well experienced in VBeam/YAG/KTP/IPL/Sublative lasers for rejuvenation of the skin, as well as collagen induction therapy/microneedling.
Furthermore, she is certified, trained, and highly experienced in Ultherapy, the collagen-inducing, non-surgical skin tightening procedure, and the non-surgical, fat-freezing treatment of the CoolSculpting Elite.
Her genuine passion for aesthetics and patient care, combined with her knowledge and ability to communicate with and educate her patients, allows each of them to experience custom, individualized care and quality treatments with excellent results.
When not at Nigro giving top-notch, expert patient care or being a general skin care nerd, she enjoys spending time with her family hiking and camping, is an avid music lover and vinyl record collector.

Heather loves helping people feel great in their skin. She enjoys assisting patients in achieving their skincare goals and is committed to the important practice of screening for and treating skin cancers.
At home, Heather loves to read, grab coffee, cook, enjoy a lake day, spend time with family, and enjoy some fighting Texas Aggie football.
Cheney Chang, PA-C

Originally from Minnesota, Cheney moved to Houston after attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon arriving, he worked as a clinical research coordinator at
MD Anderson Cancer Center.
During his time there, he wanted to be more involved with patient care, so he decided to pursue a Master of Science in physician assistant practice degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago.
During his clinical rotations, he had a strong interest in dermatology and did a preceptorship with a dermatologist at the Great Lakes Naval Base.
Cheney is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and an NCCPA, nationally board-certified physician assistant.
He has 16 years of experience treating patients of all ages in all aspects of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Houston has been Cheney’s home for 21 years. He is excited to see patients in our Richmond and San Felipe offices. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young children. In his spare time, he is an avid runner, traveler, and amateur photographer and enjoys finding good places to eat.
